Simple enough for a six-year-old. Tense enough that adults stand up from the table.

1

Set up

Put the stacking base in the middle with the cards and sticks beside it. Everyone grabs their numbered blocks.

2

Roll

Roll one or two dice. Stack blocks whose numbers add up to your roll. No match, no move.

3

Flip a challenge

Before you stack, flip a challenge card and stack the way it says. Some ask you to stack with your eyes closed.

4

Don't drop it

Knock blocks off and you take up to three of them as a penalty. First to stack all their blocks wins.

The final turn gets harder.

To win, you draw three challenge cards: green, red and blue, and play them all together. Stack it clean and the game is yours.

Multiple ways to play

Classic

Everyone for themselves. Stack your blocks first.

One tower, one team. Build it together.

Questions, answered.

How do you play Boxo Blox?

Roll one or two dice and stack numbered blocks that add up to your roll, so if you roll a 6, you have the option to stack your #6 block, or your #1 and #5 blocks. Any combination that adds up to your roll. Before stacking, draw a challenge card and follow it. If blocks fall on your turn, you take up to three of them as your own, and discard the others. The first player to stack all of their blocks wins, and the final turn uses three challenge cards at once.

How many players?

1 to 6 players. For classic mode, a 2-3 player game has each player start with TWO of each block shape for a total of 12 blocks each. For a 4-6 player game, each player starts with only 1 of each block shape for a total of 6 blocks each.

Ages 6 - 100. Equally fun for children and adults alike.

How long does a game take?

About 10 to 15 minutes.
